Accreditation & Professional Associations

Catalina Island Camps is accredited by the American Camp Association and a member of the Western Association of Independent Camps.  These professional memberships help our camp directors and staff continue to grow every year.  ACA education is a large part of the development of our full time staff through conferences, webinars and networking.

The American Camp Association is a community of camp professionals who, for nearly 100 years, have joined together to share knowledge and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs. Because of the diverse 6,700 plus membership and exceptional programs, children and adults have the opportunity to learn powerful lessons in community, character-building, skill development, and healthy living — lessons that can be learned nowhere else.

The Western Association of Independent Camps is a group of private children’s summer camps located in the Western United States. There are day and resident camps and a wide range of activities from horseback riding, swimming, rock climbing, crafts, drama, sailing and more.
