Christine Honan

CELP Director

Christine joined CIC in the fall of 2022 as the CELP Director. She returns to Howlands Landing after working as CELP Instructor and Assistant Director between 2001 and 2005 as well as a summer camp counselor, waterfront specialist and Waterfront Director. Christine has a BA in History from The University of Colorado at Boulder and a Masters of Science of Outdoor Education and Environmental Education from Alaska Pacific University. Christine has served in many roles and positions in Environmental and Outdoor Education including at the Alaska Sea Life Center, Winterberry Enrichment Program, and Apu’s Spring Creek Farm. Christine also worked for the Ocean Classroom Foundation as a Program Coordinator and Head Educator for semester programs aboard the schooner Harvey Gamage along the coasts of North and South American and through the Caribbean. Christine was a research assistant for the Caribbean Conservation Corporation and the Patagonia Research Foundation. Christine has a wealth of experiences guiding and leading trips in Alaska, Maine, Nepal, the Southern Atlantic and Pacific Coast. Christine is married and has two children living with her at Howlands Landing.
