Our Mission
Catalina Island Camps develops life-long skills through fun and unique outdoor experiences in a community that cultivates respect for self, others, and the environment.
Catalina Island Camps is committed to creating an inclusive environment that supports equal participation opportunities for campers and equal employment opportunities for staff members. We enforce a nondiscrimination policy for all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, national origin, or disability.
CIC is built around this mission. Utilizing an intentional camp design, unique activities, the marine and island environment of Howlands Landing, and our skill and experience in selecting, training and coaching staff, CIC strives to develop campers in the following designated outcomes.
As a result of attending Catalina Island Camps:
- Campers will develop a positive identity
- Campers will develop social skills
- Campers will recognize the value of being a contributing member of a positive community
- Campers will develop an appreciation for the natural environment
