Summer Camp

One-week sessions include an opportunity to try camp activities. Activities are scheduled by cabin group and camp is focused on the cabin group. One-week sessions are an introduction to resident camp and are open to campers currently in 1st through 9th grades.

Two-week sessions are our most popular session length. In addition to the group centered activities of a one-week session, two-week sessions give campers more choices in their second-week activities. All campers have an out of camp overnight. All campers choose their daily activities during the second week. Each two-week session concludes with the camp dance, awards banquet, and closing campfire. Two-week sessions are open to campers currently in 2nd through 9th grades.

Four-week sessions combine the sessions listed above. Four-week sessions include an extra discount that will be applied after registration.

We recommend the purchase of trip and travel insurance to protect your investment in your child’s summer experience.

WITHDRAWAL

It is understood that Catalina Island Camps has limited enrollment in each session with fixed and consistent operating costs. Because of these limitations, no refund or reduction for tuition will be made for the withdrawal of a camper, his/her late arrival or early departure.

ILLNESS

Should a camper become ill or injured during his/her stay and be required by the directors to return home, then at the sole discretion of the camp administration, the parent/guardian shall receive up to one-half (1/2) of the remaining tuition in the form of a credit on account or a cash refund.

DISMISSAL

Catalina Island Camps reserves the right to dismiss a camper whose conduct or influence is unsatisfactory or, in the opinion of the directors, not in the best interest of the camp. In the event of such a dismissal, no refund or credit will be made. Possession of tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs or weapons is grounds for immediate dismissal from camp.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

We are unable to offer transportation between the airport and the boat terminal. All campers must be brought to the boat terminal by a parent of guardian.

HEALTH

Catalina Island Camps requires that all campers have a physical exam within 12 months of attending camp. A new physical exam form completed by your doctor is required each year. The form will be sent with confirmation of enrollment. It is understood that, unless otherwise indicated, your child is in good health and may actively participate in all camp activities. This form must be returned to the camp office by May 1.

In addition, a health history completed by a parent/guardian is collected online in the spring.

ACTIVITIES

Vigorous outdoor and recreational activities are integral parts of the camp program. Any physical activity has hazards, but the camp administration believes that with supervision and instruction, the benefits outweigh hazards. The camp establishes minimum standards of participation for each activity. No camper is forced to participate; however, all campers are expected to meet the minimum standard at each activity. If you have any questions or need more information about any of these programs, please contact our office.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION

We rely on a completed enrollment application for your child’s safety and well being. If any information about your child should change after registration, please notify the camp immediately in writing. In the event that a parent/guardian is traveling during a camp session, the camp will need an alternate emergency contact that will be available during the camp session.
